Southwest Airlines to Launch Nonstop Flights Between Jacksonville and Austin

Southwest Airlines will introduce a new nonstop route between Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) on October 2, 2025. The service will operate six days a week, excluding Saturdays.

The outbound flight will depart Jacksonville at 11:55 a.m., arriving in Austin at 12:35 p.m. The return flight will leave Austin at 12:50 p.m., landing in Jacksonville at 4:15 p.m.

“Southwest is a beloved airline with strong brand loyalty,” said Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) CEO Mark VanLoh. “We have no doubt that their service to Austin will be successful.”

Southwest currently offers nonstop service from Jacksonville to Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, and St. Louis, according to Cirium, Diio Mi schedule data. The airline will also introduce Saturday-only flights to Kansas City starting June 7, 2025.
