Mexican Meth Trafficker Sentenced to 11 Years After Florida Drug Bust

A Mexican national has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison following an investigation by the Bradenton Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force.

Nicolas Garcia Hernandez was sentenced by a U.S. District Judge to 11 years and three months for trafficking nearly nine kilograms of methamphetamine into Florida.

In December 2023, Garcia Hernandez traveled from Tennessee to Florida, where he delivered approximately three kilograms of methamphetamine to a DEA Task Force informant. Investigators later learned he planned another delivery in May 2024. Florida Highway Patrol troopers intercepted his vehicle on I-75 in Hillsborough County, where a K9 unit detected drugs. A search uncovered nearly six kilograms of methamphetamine.

Garcia Hernandez pleaded guilty in November 2024 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
