A 51-year-old man was shot and robbed in Leesburg on Sunday night, and police are now searching for the suspect.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Truitt Street at approximately 8 p.m. on February 16, 2025, and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The suspect had already fled the scene on foot. Officers provided first aid before the victim was transported to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Leesburg detectives have identified the suspect as 36-year-old Henry Demetria Darity. An active arrest warrant is being issued for attempted homicide, armed robbery, and armed trespassing.
