Teenagers Arrested in Connection with East Naples Vehicle Burglaries

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested two teenagers linked to multiple vehicle burglaries in East Naples. The suspects, 18-year-old Matthew Trillingham of Fort Myers and 16-year-old Daniel Taylor of Naples, face charges of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.

The arrests follow incidents reported on January 27, 2025, when several vehicles were burglarized overnight outside residences on Delmar Lane, Pine Street, San Remo Avenue, Hibiscus Avenue, and Holiday Lane. Investigators utilized fingerprints recovered from one of the vehicles, which matched Trillingham, and reviewed video footage from home security cameras. The footage allegedly showed Trillingham and Taylor attempting to enter vehicles, with Trillingham successfully accessing several unlocked cars.

Deputies located Trillingham and Taylor on Thursday evening near the Collier County Government Center and took them into custody. At the time of their arrests, both were reportedly wearing the same shoes observed in the surveillance videos. Trillingham was found in possession of a THC vape pen and a bottle of liquor, leading to additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk emphasized the importance of securing vehicles to prevent such incidents, stating, “Once again I am reminding everyone to always lock your car doors and to remove keys and fobs even if your vehicle is parked in the driveway or garage.”

Both suspects were transported to the Naples Jail Center following their arrests.
