An 18-year-old Jacksonville man, Behrend Ludwig, has been arrested by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) in connection with a shooting that occurred near the soccer fields in Oakleaf Plantation on February 21st.
At approximately 5:45 PM, a juvenile victim was shot in the area of Silver Bluff Blvd and Plantation Oaks Blvd. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities confirmed the victim and suspect knew each other and were involved in an altercation prior to the shooting.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives identified Ludwig as the shooter. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder.
“This reckless and senseless act of violence endangered the lives of innocent children and families,” said Sheriff Michelle Cook. “I want to personally thank our deputies and detectives for their tireless efforts in this investigation. I also want to express my gratitude to the community members who provided crucial information—your willingness to come forward played a vital role in swiftly identifying and apprehending the individual responsible.”
