Manhunt Underway After Fatal Shooting at Perry Gas Station

Authorities are searching for a suspect considered armed and dangerous following a fatal shooting at a Perry gas station on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Perry Police officers responded to the Sunoco gas station located at 1200 South Byron Butler Pkwy after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Terry Griffin, who had been shot and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Perry Police Department and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office have issued an alert for 31-year-old Jacques Renard Freeman. He is described as a Black male, 6’0″ tall, and weighing 210 lbs.

Authorities are urging extreme caution as Freeman is considered armed and dangerous. His current location is unknown.
