Pacetti Bay Middle School, located at 245 Meadowlark Ln in St. Augustine, was placed on a brief lockdown this morning, February 25, 2025, after receiving a threatening call, which authorities believe to be a hoax.
An unknown male caller claimed to be at a residence near the school, possessing firearms and explosives, and having committed a homicide. He also made threats against the school.
The school’s assigned youth resource deputy, who was on-site, took over communication with the caller. The school was placed on lockdown while St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) resources responded to investigate.
Investigation revealed there was no credible threat, and the incident is similar to the hoax call received at Landrum Middle School yesterday.
The SJSO and the St. Johns County School District emphasize their commitment to responding to all threats with maximum resources until student and staff safety is assured.
The incident is under active investigation by the SJSO, in collaboration with federal and state law enforcement partners.
