Tityus Leon Davonte Mitchell, 30, was arrested on February 26, 2025, after making threats against Anchor Faith Church in St. Augustine, prompting a school lockdown.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) was notified of the threats, and the onsite school at Anchor Faith was placed on lockdown. SJSO’s Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) analysts discovered social media posts from Mitchell making specific threats of violence towards the church and staff members.
Deputies located Mitchell in his vehicle near CR210 and Russell Sampson Road in Northern St. Johns County. A search of his vehicle revealed:
- A shotgun
- Ammunition
- An axe
- Two baseball bats
- Two machetes
- Marijuana
- Ski masks
Mitchell was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested. He has been charged with:
- Written threats to kill (felony)
- Disrupting a school function (misdemeanor)
