The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred early Wednesday, March 19, 2025, on the 2400 block of Drake Elm Terrace in Valrico.
At 3:49 a.m., dispatchers received a 911 call from a woman reporting a disturbance in her home. Dispatchers overheard an argument in the background involving the woman, her estranged husband, and her boyfriend.
At 3:51 a.m., a 12-year-old boy in the home called 911 to report that his father had broken in. Moments later, gunshots were heard.
Deputies arrived at 3:56 a.m. and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Outside the residence, deputies discovered a vehicle on fire with what is believed to be the suspect inside. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
“This was a horrific and senseless act of violence that left two people dead and a woman and her son in unimaginable distress,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This is a devastating reminder of how dangerous domestic situations can become. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
