Cameron Yarbrough, a fugitive with a lengthy criminal history, was arrested after ramming patrol cars and discarding methamphetamine during an attempt to flee from law enforcement.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Narcotics Detectives and Fugitive Unit assisted the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in locating Yarbrough, who had 17 outstanding charges on a warrant from Putnam County.
With assistance from the Florida Highway Patrol air unit, investigators located Yarbrough at the intersection of Silver Sand Circle and Appomattox Avenue. During a traffic stop, Yarbrough intentionally rammed his vehicle into CCSO detectives’ vehicles, causing damage.
As Yarbrough attempted to flee into the woods, he discarded a plastic bag containing 94 grams of methamphetamine. He was apprehended and arrested.
Yarbrough faces charges including trafficking methamphetamine. He is being held at the Clay County Jail and has a hold for the Putnam County case. His bond was set at $500,000.
The CCSO thanked the Florida Highway Patrol for their assistance and emphasized their commitment to community safety.
