Two Men Arrested for Felony Animal Cruelty After Hunting Dogs Shot in Bryceville

Two men have been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty after allegedly shooting and killing two hunting dogs on Rollo Drive in Bryceville on Thursday.

The suspects, Bobby Pike and James Wilson, face criminal charges following a reported series of aggressive actions that led to the deaths of the animals. According to the victim, the suspects arrived at the property, banged on the door, and shouted before driving ATVs through the yard. They then reportedly fired shots at a dog kennel, fatally striking two dogs.

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper condemned the incident, stating, “Our community expects better, and we will ensure those responsible are held fully accountable for this cruel act.”

When Nassau County deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered the deceased dogs along with forensic evidence, including three shotgun shells—two fired and one unfired. Investigators also determined that Wilson, one of the suspects, is a convicted felon who was illegally in possession of a firearm.

Nassau County Animal Control is conducting necropsies to support the investigation and gather further evidence. Pike and Wilson remain in custody, charged with felony animal cruelty, while additional charges, including illegal firearm possession, are pending.
