Nathaniel James, also known as “Bo Dilley” and “Bo Didley,” was arrested on March 30, 2025, by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office on an out-of-county warrant from Duval County. James, a long-time figure in drug trafficking circles, is allegedly tied to “The Miami Boys,” a notorious drug trafficking organization that emerged in the 1980s and operated across Florida and Georgia.
James, 52, is facing charges related to trafficking fentanyl (28 grams or more) and cocaine (200 grams or more). The arrest stems from an investigation initiated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in October 2023, which led to James being linked to narcotics transactions. Authorities say James sold narcotics to a confidential source in Duval County, and the substance tested positive for fentanyl.
James has a lengthy criminal history, including a 1991 arrest for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Although initially sentenced to life in prison, his sentence was later reduced to 408 months in 2019, with 60 months of supervised release.
The investigation revealed that James had been traveling between Florida and Georgia, transporting large quantities of cocaine and fentanyl to Jacksonville. A warrant for his arrest was issued in November 2024.
James was apprehended during a traffic stop on US Highway 1 in Callahan by a Nassau County Deputy. Sheriff Bill Leeper praised the arrest as a significant step in dismantling local drug trafficking operations. James is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
