Naples Man Sentenced to 13 Years for Carjacking, High-Speed Chase, and Fentanyl Trafficking

A Naples man who led Collier County deputies on a high-speed pursuit in 2022, carjacked a motorist, and was later found with a large quantity of fentanyl has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Fritz Gerald Senatus, 27, received the 13-year sentence on multiple felony charges, including carjacking, high-speed fleeing and eluding, and trafficking in fentanyl, cocaine, and MDMA. Senatus, a convicted felon and documented gang member with a significant criminal history in Collier County, was apprehended after the dramatic incident on April 20, 2022.

The incident began when deputies clocked Senatus speeding in a construction zone on State Road 82. He fled at speeds over 100 mph, and after stop sticks disabled his vehicle, he carjacked a Hyundai, forcing the female driver into the passenger seat. The pursuit continued into Lee County, where Senatus was eventually stopped. He then attempted to enter two other vehicles before being apprehended in a nearby shopping plaza.

At the time of his arrest, Senatus had drugs on his person. A subsequent search of his original vehicle revealed trafficking amounts of narcotics, including enough fentanyl to potentially kill over 16,000 people, along with heroin, crack cocaine, and a fentanyl/methamphetamine mixture.

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk praised the sentence, highlighting the dangers faced by deputies and the devastating impact of fentanyl on the community. He commended the deputies involved for their bravery and for removing the dangerous drugs from the streets.
