Two Employees Injured, Suspect Dead in Port Orange Walgreens Shooting

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at approximately 5:26 p.m., the Port Orange Police Department responded to a report of an active shooting at the Walgreens located at 1625 Taylor Road.

Upon arrival, officers found the suspect in the parking lot with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Preliminary investigations revealed that a shooting had occurred inside the store, resulting in injuries to two employees. The injured employees were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Investigators determined that one customer was inside the store during the incident and was unharmed.

Authorities are currently withholding the identities of the employees and the suspect pending notification of their next of kin.

The incident remains under active investigation as law enforcement officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Further details will be released as they become available and the investigation progresses.
