Suspect Charged with Murder in October 2024 Arlington Road Shooting

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has charged 28-year-old Michael Byron with Murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Shawndell Robinson on October 23, 2024.

On that date, JSO officers responded to the intersection of Arlington Road and Mayer Drive where they discovered Robinson with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Medical Examiner’s Office subsequently ruled his death a homicide.

Following an investigation into the shooting, JSO Homicide detectives identified Michael Byron as the suspect. Byron was already in custody at the Duval County jail on unrelated charges. He now faces an additional charge of Murder for the death of Shawndell Robinson.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated their commitment to working with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure justice for Robinson’s family and loved ones.
