Stolen Tag Leads to Chase, Guns, and Drug Bust in Neptune Beach

On May 25, 2025, a Neptune Beach resident reported their license plate stolen. Using License Plate Reader (LPR) technology, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division identified the stolen plate on a vehicle being driven by a local suspect in the beaches area.

On May 28, 2025, detectives located the vehicle and, with assistance from the Patrol Division, attempted a traffic stop. The suspect fled, striking an unoccupied vehicle a short distance later. Officers quickly apprehended the driver and recovered two firearms—one of which had been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit—as well as multiple felony-level narcotics inside the vehicle.

The investigation continued to a residence the suspect had just left. Officers encountered and arrested two additional individuals who had outstanding warrants.

The primary suspect, 39-year-old Jordan Robert Tindal, was booked into the Duval County Jail on multiple charges:

  • Armed Possession of Fentanyl, Heroin, and Methamphetamine with Intent to Sell
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Fleeing Police
  • Petit Theft
  • Possession of Marijuana (under 20 grams)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Driving with a Suspended License
  • Attaching a Tag Not Assigned
  • No Proof of Insurance

The Neptune Beach Police Department emphasized its commitment to removing illegal firearms and drugs from the community.
