A man linked to a series of retail thefts at a Lowe’s store in Osceola County has been arrested following an investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 28, 2025, deputies received a delayed report regarding six thefts that occurred at the Lowe’s located at 4420 Pleasant Hill Road between March 27 and April 28. Loss Prevention personnel provided store surveillance footage, which showed the suspect vehicle and license plate. Detectives identified the suspect as 55-year-old Edwin Ibanez.
Further investigation revealed that Ibanez was driving with a suspended license and had an active warrant for Violation of Probation out of Pinellas County.
On May 29, 2025, members of the South Property Crimes Unit observed Ibanez driving the same vehicle. A felony traffic stop was conducted near Old Pleasant Hill Road and Cypress Parkway with assistance from Patrol units. Ibanez was taken into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Ibanez confessed to all six thefts and admitted to selling the stolen items for profit. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail on multiple charges, including:
- Grand Theft (2 counts)
- Petit Theft (4 counts)
- Dealing in Stolen Property (6 counts)
- Driving While License Suspended
The case remains under investigation.
