State Attorney Melissa Nelson announced that a Clay County jury has found Timothy Finley guilty of two counts of Sale, Manufacture, or Delivery of Methamphetamine and one count of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device.
Finley, of Middleburg, now faces up to 35 years in Florida State Prison. Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date by the Honorable Don Lester.
The convictions stem from two undercover narcotics operations conducted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on October 21 and November 16, 2021. In both cases, detectives used a confidential informant equipped with a recording device and provided with Drug Task Force funds. Finley met the informant outside his home and retrieved the methamphetamine from his vehicle during each transaction.
During the October incident, Finley also used his cell phone to coordinate the sale. The substances obtained in both buys were sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for testing and were confirmed to be methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant State Attorneys David Gilbert and Brandi Moravek.
