Lake City Police Arrest Felon with Firearm Following Battery Incident

A Lake City man with multiple prior felony convictions was arrested Monday evening, June 9, 2025, after allegedly battering two individuals and being found in possession of a concealed firearm.

At approximately 8:49 p.m., Lake City Police Department officers responded to a report of a battery involving multiple individuals on SW Hilton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers encountered 27-year-old Trey Urey Waldron, who initially refused to comply with commands and attempted to leave the scene.

Officers spoke with a first victim who stated Waldron shoved him in the chest during a verbal altercation. Shortly thereafter, Waldron reportedly initiated a physical confrontation with a neighbor. The second victim told officers that Waldron began yelling at him unprovoked before striking him multiple times. This victim also stated that Waldron appeared to reach into his shorts, and fearing for his safety due to prior knowledge of Waldron possessing a firearm, he became concerned. Injuries consistent with the altercation were observed on the victim, though both victims declined medical attention.

Waldron was later located walking in the area, complied with officers’ commands, and was taken into custody without incident. A search incident to arrest revealed a firearm concealed in Waldron’s pocket. A check of Waldron’s criminal history confirmed two prior felony convictions, which legally prohibit him from possessing a firearm.

Trey U. Waldron was arrested and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center. His bond has been set at $106,000.
