A driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of a fiery single-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the intersection of Russell Drive and South Street. Daytona Beach Police Department officers responded to the major motor vehicle accident with injuries at approximately 10:53 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a pickup truck fully engulfed in flames. Personnel from the Daytona Beach Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
The vehicle also struck two power poles, creating additional safety hazards. Florida Power & Light responded to secure the damaged utility infrastructure.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains active and ongoing.
