Jacksonville Teen Charged with Murder After Fatal Shooting of Father and Another Victim

An 18-year-old is in custody following a double homicide early Saturday morning outside a shopping center on Baymeadows Road near Old Baymeadows Road.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on June 21, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office patrol officers responded to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk in front of the business complex.

The victims were identified as 41-year-old Larry Baldwin Sr., the father of the suspect, and 19-year-old Rubisnney Giraldo-Mina. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue personnel.

Officers detained 18-year-old Larry Allen Baldwin Jr. at the location. Homicide detectives conducted interviews and processed the scene. Their investigation revealed that Baldwin Jr. shot both individuals during an argument.

Baldwin Jr. was arrested later that day and booked into the Duval County Jail on two counts of murder. The case is being prosecuted in coordination with the State Attorney’s Office.
