Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Escambia County, Found with Over 892 Grams of Meth, Firearm

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jackie Washington, 28, on June 24th following a traffic stop that escalated into a vehicle pursuit and foot chase. Washington now faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine, fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The incident began when deputies attempted a traffic stop at St. Joseph Street and North I Street. Washington, who was driving, fled from deputies, ultimately crashing his vehicle into a fence at the intersection of B Street and Jordan Street. He then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.

Inside the vehicle, deputies located a significant quantity of illegal narcotics, including 892 grams of methamphetamine, along with a firearm and 11 grams of marijuana.
