ORLANDO, FL – On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the Orlando Police Department confirmed it is reviewing an arrest captured on video and circulating on social media. The arrest occurred after officers responded to a firearm disturbance on July 4 around 6:40 p.m. at 4334 Crossroads Court.
According to police, a witness reported that 22-year-old Zion Ephraim Jessiah Skepple had been seen waving a firearm in front of several individuals. Upon arrival, the responding officer observed Skepple—matching the suspect description—walking away and looking back at the patrol vehicle.
The officer issued multiple verbal commands for Skepple to stop. After Skepple failed to comply, the officer deployed a taser, which was initially ineffective. Skepple fled toward a nearby apartment. A second taser deployment caused him to fall, but he quickly got back up and continued to a doorway.
At one point during the encounter, Skepple allegedly turned and reached for something not visible to the officer, prompting the officer to draw their firearm and command him to stop. Skepple then complied and was taken into custody.
A search revealed that Skepple was carrying a firearm with an extended magazine containing 31 rounds, along with cannabis. He was charged with Possession of Cannabis and Resisting an Officer Without Violence.
The Orlando Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit is conducting a review of the incident.
