LAKE CITY, FL – Trevis Javon Johnson, 39, was arrested Tuesday, July 15, after Lake City Police officers responded to a disturbance involving a gun at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), located at 313 SW Baya Drive. Johnson, a convicted felon, is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At approximately 4:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the KFC after a report of a disturbance where a suspect had fled the scene. Dispatch provided a description of a Black male wearing a white shirt and gray shorts, with multiple tattoos, and carrying a small bag or pouch.
Responding officers observed a suspect matching the description running from the area and stopped him at the McDonald’s located at 491 SW Main Boulevard. The individual, identified as Trevis Javon Johnson, was compliant with officers’ orders. However, he was no longer in possession of the bag when searched.
A canvas of the surrounding area led officers to locate the discarded bag, which contained a loaded silver Raven Arms MP25 handgun.
Further investigation revealed that Johnson has two prior felony convictions for armed robbery with a deadly weapon.
Johnson was arrested and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center without further incident.
