JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested 24-year-old Josiah Luis Martinez in connection with the June 11, 2025, shooting death of Kenneth Mobley Jr. outside Copeland’s Restaurant on Southside Boulevard.
Mobley, 38, was shot in the chest in the restaurant’s parking lot and rushed to the hospital, where he later died. He was a father and just days away from celebrating his 39th birthday.
After a detailed investigation by JSO Homicide detectives, Martinez was identified as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued on July 25, and Martinez was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force on July 28. He has been booked into the Duval County Jail on a charge of Murder.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is continuing to work with the State Attorney’s Office to pursue justice in the case.
