CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — On the morning of July 30, 2025, detention deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical emergency after inmates alerted them that 20-year-old Jarel Walker-Webb appeared ill and unresponsive.
Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until relieved by Clay County Fire and Rescue personnel. Despite their efforts, Walker-Webb was pronounced deceased.
There were no visible signs of trauma, and the cause of death remains unknown. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will lead the investigation, working alongside the Medical Examiner’s Office.
