Fort Meade Woman Charged with Attempted Murder After Dispute Over Bed Sheets

FORT MEADE, FL – An argument over bedding turned violent Sunday evening, July 27, 2025, leading to the arrest of a Fort Meade woman on attempted murder charges.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence around 5:18 p.m. following a report of a battery in progress. According to the victim, 26-year-old Anaya Durandisse Williams became enraged over the type of bed sheets and blankets the victim had placed in Williams’ room.

The situation escalated when Williams allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and struck her in the head with an empty glass bottle, causing it to shatter. The victim also reported being kicked and bitten during the attack.

As the victim attempted to call 911, Williams reportedly armed herself with a knife and inflicted a minor laceration on the victim’s back.

During an interview with detectives, Williams admitted to the assault, stating she acted because the victim is “overly-emotional and pushes people over the edge.”

Williams was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center. She has been charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
