Marion County Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing 15-year-old; Communicated Using Snapchat

On Monday, July 28th, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Ryan Paxton arrested 56-year-old Roberto Maurizio Stracuzzi for Using a Computer to Solicit a Child, Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and two (2) counts each of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition over a Computer Service, Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, Transmitting Material Harmful to a Minor, and Possession of Child Pornography.

On July 28, 2025, at around 10:30 a.m., MCSO deputies received information about Stracuzzi sexually abusing a 15-year-old victim. A forensic interview was conducted with the child victim, who disclosed that she met Stracuzzi at a neighborhood pool on July 18, 2025, and exchanged Snapchat information. Stracuzzi began messaging the victim on Snapchat and transitioned the conversation to a sexual nature. He sent sexually explicit photos to the victim and received child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of the victim, which he downloaded to his device. Stracuzzi also provided the victim with a “sex toy” and made multiple FaceTime calls with the victim, during which he masturbated himself and encouraged the child to use the item he gave her. The juvenile victim also advised that Stracuzzi solicited her for sexual activity during a conversation on WhatsApp and made plans for her to sneak out of her home when her mother was asleep. Detective Paxton reviewed the conversations between Stracuzzi and the victim and developed probable cause for his arrest.

During an interview, Stracuzzi corroborated the victim’s statements about how they met and that they had communicated online. He initially stated their conversations were only about his daughter, but ultimately admitted to each aspect of the sexual abuse.

Stracuzzi was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail.
