JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A narcotics investigation led to the seizure of drugs, firearms, and the arrest of four people at a Biltmore warehouse earlier this month, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced.
Detectives began monitoring the warehouse, located off Old Kings Road, after noticing illegal activity this summer. Investigators determined the building, which is connected to other businesses, was being used to sell drugs.
During the investigation, officers learned firearms were inside the property. On August 1, SWAT officers executed a search warrant and recovered:
- 34.7 grams of fentanyl — more than 17,000 potentially fatal doses
- 7.2 grams of flakka
- 2.9 grams of crack cocaine
- 1.6 grams of ecstasy
- 2.7 grams of marijuana
- Two firearms, including an AK-47-style rifle and a handgun
Four suspects — La’Kenya Leavell, 37; Comfort Harris, 34; Dushawn Powell, 36; and Todd Thornton, 35 — face charges in connection with the case.
Police urged residents to report suspicious activity by calling 904-630-0500.
