Four Juveniles Arrested After Gunfire Erupts at LaBelle Community Sports Park

LABELLE, Fla. — Four teenagers were taken into custody Thursday evening after a shooting incident at the Hendry County LaBelle Community Sports Park.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on August 14, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at the park located at 999 Forestry Division Road. Witnesses reported seeing four juveniles fighting before splitting into two groups and firing at each other. No injuries were reported.

Two teens were apprehended near Cowboy Way and Pratt Boulevard, while the other two fled into a wooded area near the airport. Multiple patrol and K9 units searched the area, locating the remaining suspects a short time later.

Deputies collected several items from the park and surrounding areas as evidence. The juveniles face various charges:

  • 16-year-old male, LaBelle — Affray (released to guardian)
  • 16-year-old male, LaBelle — Affray, Discharge of a Firearm in Public, Improper Exhibition of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault Without Intent to Kill (transported to Department of Juvenile Justice)
  • 15-year-old male, LaBelle — Affray (released to guardian)
  • 17-year-old male, LaBelle — Affray (released to guardian)

Authorities stated the incident is unrelated to the arrest of a LaBelle High School student earlier the same day.
