Sanford Police have arrested 25-year-old Jaden Alexander Harris on a charge of Second-Degree Homicide with a Firearm.
On August 14, 2025, shortly after 5:20 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at 800 Marbella Lane. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Sanford Fire Department personnel but died shortly after arrival.
Investigators determined the shooting followed an altercation between Harris and the victim while both were driving near State Road 46 and Mangoustine Avenue. The confrontation ended at Vue on Lake Monroe Apartments, where Harris shot the victim. Authorities stated the incident appears to be isolated between Harris and the victim. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending next-of-kin notification.
Harris remained on scene and was arrested by Sanford Police, then booked at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS. Tips to Crimeline remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $5,000 if they lead to solving the case.
