JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—A Jacksonville man has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to child pornography, following a statewide initiative by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
Luis Soto, 42, was arrested on August 18 and faces 10 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, one count of transmission of child sexual abuse material, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He was transported to the Duval County Jail.
The investigation began in May after FDLE agents received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding a cloud storage account user who was uploading files containing child sexual abuse material. An investigation identified Soto as the account user and determined his location in Jacksonville.
On July 31, agents served a search warrant for the cloud storage account. A forensic analysis revealed over 1,700 digital images and video files, some depicting children as young as seven years old. The files also contained child erotica and a video depicting the sexual abuse of animals.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest. The case is being prosecuted by Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution in Jacksonville. The investigation is active and ongoing.
