Jacksonville Man Arrested in Hogan’s Creek Homicide, Facing Multiple Charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a man found inside a Hogan’s Creek residence on Friday, August 22.

District 1 patrol officers responded to reports of a fight at a home on West 18th Street near North Davis Street. Witnesses told officers that the victim, suspect, and another individual might still be inside the residence. After several unsuccessful attempts to enter, officers requested assistance from the SWAT Team.

Once inside, officers located 68-year-old James Fisher, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

JSO’s Homicide Unit identified 26-year-old Monae Monique Woodward-Boone as the suspect. Woodward-Boone was taken into custody and booked into the Duval County Jail. He is facing charges of Second-Degree Murder, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Battery, Resisting Officers Without Violence, and Providing False Identification. His bond was set at $501,000.

Two days after his arrest, an additional charge of Battery on an Officer/Firefighter/EMT or Security Officer was added. No bond has been issued for that charge, and Woodward-Boone remains in custody.

The case is being prosecuted in coordination with the State Attorney’s Office.
