Alachua County Man Arrested After Infant Exposed to Cocaine and Fentanyl

Alachua County, FL — In the early morning hours of Monday, August 25, 2025, deputies and EMS responded to a medical emergency involving a 2-month-old infant at a residence in northwest Alachua County. The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors determined the baby had been exposed to both cocaine and fentanyl.

Emergency treatment was administered, and the infant is now listed in stable condition.

Following an investigation, deputies arrested Clifford Trunick IV, a resident of the home, on multiple charges including:

  • Child Neglect with Great Bodily Harm
  • Possession of Cocaine
  • Possession of Fentanyl
  • Tampering with Evidence

The Florida Department of Children and Families has been notified and is now involved to ensure the safety and well-being of the child.
