Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) homicide detectives have arrested the final suspect in connection with a deadly 2024 shooting at a Westside game room.
Authorities confirmed that 25-year-old Trai’xon Smith, identified as the gunman, was taken into custody and is now facing multiple felony charges, including murder and attempted murder.
The case stems from an October 2024 shooting that left 28-year-old Ronald Matthews dead and two others injured. District 5 patrol officers responded that night and immediately launched a homicide investigation.
Detectives determined Smith was the shooter, but he was not alone. Three others—25-year-old Quraan Goodman, 27-year-old Petrios Britt, and 33-year-old Cheneta Duffy—have already been charged in connection to the killing.
With Smith’s arrest, all four suspects are now in jail. JSO said they are working closely with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure each suspect faces full accountability.
“This case is about justice for Ronald Matthews,” JSO officials said in the release. “Every person responsible will be held accountable.”
