Jacksonville Contractor Arrested After Fatal Stabbing at Anheuser-Busch Plant

A Jacksonville contractor is behind bars after police say he fatally stabbed a coworker during their first day on the job at the Anheuser-Busch plant in Oceanway.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, Jacksonville Patrol officers responded to a reported stabbing at the plant. When officers arrived, they found 22-year-old Antoine Autry suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue but later died from his injuries.

Witnesses told homicide detectives that both Autry and the suspect, 38-year-old Jason Guthrie, had just started working at the plant that day as contractors. They reported hearing Autry scream that he had been stabbed and then saw Guthrie running from the scene. No argument or confrontation was heard beforehand.

Police K9 units searched the property and found Guthrie hiding inside one of the buildings. Detectives interviewed him and later arrested him for murder.

Guthrie is currently being held in the Duval County Jail. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says it will continue working with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure justice for Autry’s family, friends, and coworkers.
