Two Arrested in St. Lucie County for Elder Abuse and Fraudulent Home Transfer

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people following a harrowing investigation into elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.

Deputies began investigating on July 16, 2025, after a report to the Florida Department of Children and Families alleged that the elderly victim was being physically abused and neglected by her caretakers. A second report in October raised further concerns about her declining mental and physical condition.

During interviews, the victim told investigators she had been denied food, restricted from moving freely inside her home, and forced to use the restroom outdoors. She was also made to shower in a small outdoor tent using only a garden hose with no temperature control. Detectives later discovered the victim suffered from a chronic, untreated wound exposing internal tissue and bone, along with several other medical complications caused by long-term neglect.

The investigation also uncovered that Enrique Junior Navedo, 43, had fraudulently transferred ownership of the victim’s home into his own name using a backdated Quit Claim Deed, filed more than a year after its supposed signing.

Navedo was charged with Fraud–Swindle–Obtain Property $50,000 or More and Abuse of an Elderly or Disabled Adult Without Great Bodily Harm. Loy Lynn La Pierre, 58, was also arrested and charged with Abuse of an Elderly or Disabled Adult Without Great Bodily Harm.

Both suspects were booked into the St. Lucie County Jail.
