INDIANTOWN, Fla. – A Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputy’s proactive patrol led to the arrest of a Lake Worth man on Friday morning, October 31st, for allegedly meeting and having contact with a minor he met online.
While patrolling an Indiantown neighborhood, an MCSO deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle parked along SW Seminole Drive. Upon checking the car, the deputy discovered Igor Ravinskiy, 40, of Lake Worth, in the backseat with a 13-year-old girl from Martin County.
Detectives determined that Ravinskiy had initially made contact with the victim through Snapchat before driving to Martin County to meet her in person. Ravinskiy, who identified himself as an undocumented Russian national, was taken into custody and charged with Sexual Battery on a Minor.
Law Enforcement Urges Vigilance
The MCSO praised the deputy’s quick action, stating that the case is a powerful reminder of the dangers children face online.
The Sheriff’s Office urged parents to be especially vigilant as children partake in Halloween activities, emphasizing the need to closely monitor their children’s social media use and online interactions, as predators frequently use these platforms to gain trust.
