Walton County, FL – A high-speed street racing incident involving a Lamborghini and two Corvettes ended with one arrest and one suspect still on the run, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office said.
Just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, a deputy traveling north on County Highway 395 saw a red Lamborghini, a white Corvette, and a silver Corvette accelerate from the light at U.S. Highway 98 in what deputies described as a clear street race.
When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, both Corvettes pulled over. The Lamborghini did not. Instead, deputies say it sped north at more than 110 miles per hour before turning into the Jewel Apartment Complex off Malachite Way.
Deputies located the Lamborghini minutes later, abandoned in a handicap parking space near the complex’s mail area. The vehicle was towed after the driver fled on foot.
Investigators identified the owner as 28-year-old Alex Lamberson of Santa Rosa Beach. Apartment management reviewed surveillance footage showing a man matching Lamberson’s description getting out of the car and running through the mail area. Witnesses who know Lamberson also confirmed seeing him leave the vehicle and nearly strike an employee as he drove in.
Lamberson faces charges including reckless driving, excessive speed, street racing, fleeing and eluding, and obstruction. Deputies are urging him to turn himself in.
The driver of the white Corvette was located later, arrested for street racing, and booked into the Walton County Jail. She was released Saturday evening on a $1,000 bond. Both her vehicle and the Lamborghini are being held for 30 days.
The investigation is ongoing.
