MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested 53-year-old Dwain C. Hall of Ocala on first-degree murder and kidnapping charges in connection with the death of a woman from the United Kingdom.
The investigation began on October 13, 2025, when FDLE received a request for assistance from U.K. authorities through INTERPOL regarding a missing and endangered woman. Investigators determined the woman had missed her scheduled flight back to England. By October 17, agents from FDLE’s Jacksonville Regional Operations Center and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office located human remains in Marion Oaks, which were confirmed to be the missing woman and ruled a homicide.
Hall was arrested on November 17, 2025, while already in custody on separate charges of fraudulent use of credit cards and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Authorities tied Hall to fraudulent use of the victim’s credit cards, linking him to her disappearance and death.
FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass praised the speed and diligence of investigators, saying, “Our agents worked with extraordinary speed and unwavering determination to ensure justice was served and closure was brought to the victim’s family. This type of violent crime and disregard for human life will not be tolerated in our state.”
Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods highlighted the cooperation between local and state law enforcement, noting the role of multiple agencies in the investigation, including the Gainesville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Belpre Police Department, Noble County Sheriff’s Office, Marietta Police Department, Ohio State Patrol, FBI, and Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.
The case is being prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. FDLE continues to investigate and urges anyone with information to contact the Gainesville Field Office tip line at GFOTips@fdle.state.fl.us.
