Orange Park, FL – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a hospital employee accused of violently assaulting a 73-year-old patient inside HCA Orange Park Medical Center.
Deputies responded to the facility on Friday, November 14, 2025, after staff reported that the elderly male patient had been assaulted. Investigators learned that the patient was struck multiple times in the face, pushed into a wall, and knocked to the floor. Another staff member who witnessed the attack immediately notified supervisors.
Detectives identified the suspect as Anthony Diaz, 52, an employee at the hospital. After completing their investigation, they secured an arrest warrant for Diaz on November 25. He was taken into custody at his home the same day.
Diaz is charged with Aggravated Battery of an Elderly Person and is being held on a $150,003 bond. Authorities have not released additional details as the case remains active.
