GAINESVILLE, FL – In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 30, 2025, Gainesville deputies responded to a reported shooting at the Park Lane Apartments in southwest Gainesville. The call indicated a possible injured person inside a residence.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered an adult victim suffering from a serious laceration. Near the victim, they found 23-year-old Dasani Avianalyndell Johnson, who was also injured and covered in blood. Johnson was initially uncooperative with law enforcement. Both individuals received on-scene medical attention and were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.
During a protective sweep of the apartment, deputies observed significant blood evidence in multiple rooms, a blunt-force object, and damage to a wall consistent with a gunshot. Multiple witnesses were interviewed, describing a physical altercation between the victim and Johnson. Their statements corroborated the evidence observed on scene.
A search warrant was obtained and executed later that day. Deputies recovered a handgun, a shell casing, and other items relevant to the investigation. Detectives also conducted separate, detailed interviews with both the victim and Johnson to further clarify the events leading to the injuries.
Following the investigation, Dasani Johnson was arrested and charged with Felony Attempted Murder. The case remains under investigation as deputies continue to gather evidence to support prosecution.
