INTERPOL Fugitive Arrested After High-Speed Chase and Foot Pursuit in St. Johns County

On December 4, 2025, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Task Force deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Interstate 95 near the 331-mile marker. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Tomal Rico Bowe from the Bahamas, fled the scene, briefly driving the wrong way in traffic. Deputies successfully executed a PIT maneuver near International Golf Parkway, but Bowe ran on foot and stole a vehicle from a nearby business complex.

Deputies deployed stop sticks on International Golf Parkway, and Bowe abandoned the vehicle on railroad tracks near Abbotts Way before fleeing into wooded and marsh areas. Multiple law enforcement resources, including K9 teams from SJSO and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office as well as air support, were deployed. The SJSO Air Unit maintained visual contact and guided ground units, leading to a K9 engagement and Bowe’s arrest.

Bowe is an armed and dangerous INTERPOL fugitive with an active warrant for Aggravated Robbery in the Bahamas. He also has outstanding warrants in Broward County for Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting Law Enforcement. Locally, he has been charged with Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement, Resisting Law Enforcement, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Marijuana.
