Jacksonville Officers and Fishermen Team Up to Rescue Stranded French Bulldog

JACKSONVILLE, FL – A soaked and shivering French bulldog was rescued thanks to the quick thinking and teamwork of JSO officers and local fishermen.

A couple of weeks ago, District 6 Officers Moran and Duggar responded to a call about a dog in distress near Grand Street along the Ribault River. The officers quickly spotted the pup stranded on a small island, cold, wet, and unable to return to shore on its own.

Thinking fast, the officers enlisted the help of two nearby fishermen. Using their boat, the fishermen reached the island and safely brought the Frenchie back to land.

The dog, who didn’t have a microchip, was taken to Animal Care & Protective Services and was given a new name: Porky. ACPS reports that Porky is now thriving and has been adopted into a loving home.

Authorities praised the teamwork that turned a dangerous situation into a happy ending, thanking both the officers and the local fishermen for their quick response.
