Woman Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing at Jacksonville Park

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – A 44-year-old woman is in custody following a fatal stabbing at a Jacksonville park that left a 69-year-old man dead.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office District 6 officers responded on Friday, December 26, to a reported stabbing at Grand Park on West 30th Street. When officers arrived, they found David Spivey suffering from a stab wound to his chest.

Spivey was rushed to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery, but later died from his injuries.

JSO homicide detectives took over the investigation and, based on evidence gathered at the scene and during follow-up interviews, identified Teri Owens as the suspect. After completing the investigation, detectives arrested Owens and charged her with Spivey’s murder.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to bring justice to Spivey’s family and friends.
