JSO Narcotics Bust Takes Thousands of Potentially Deadly Drugs Off Jacksonville Streets

JACKSONVILLE, FL – As the new year begins, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives say their mission remains unchanged: removing dangerous drugs and repeat offenders from local neighborhoods.

In December, detectives wrapped up a long-term investigation into 39-year-old Jules Miller, a convicted felon accused of trafficking drugs throughout the Jacksonville area. Investigators tracked Miller’s movements and identified multiple locations in the Wesconnett area that he allegedly used to sell and store illegal narcotics, including a house, an apartment unit, and a storage unit.

On December 15, detectives executed search warrants at all three locations. The searches uncovered a significant amount of illegal drugs, including nearly 18 grams of fentanyl, an amount investigators say equates to roughly 9,000 potentially fatal doses. Additional drugs seized included methamphetamine, mushrooms, MDMA, powder and crack cocaine, amphetamine pills, marijuana, and other suspected controlled substances.

Detectives also recovered three handguns, which Miller is prohibited from possessing due to his felony record, along with three pieces of jewelry and nearly $10,000 in cash.

Miller was taken into custody following the searches and now faces multiple charges, including felony drug trafficking offenses.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the arrest is part of an ongoing effort to disrupt drug distribution networks and prevent overdoses in the community. Investigators encourage residents to report suspicious activity by calling 904-630-0500, reminding the public that tips from the community often play a key role in major cases.
