Motorcyclist Arrested in Marion County After High-Speed Pursuit, Drugs and Gun Thrown from Bike

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Wednesday evening traffic stop in an active construction zone escalated into a dangerous pursuit that ended with a Kissimmee man in custody and multiple felony charges.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Traffic Unit Cpl. Turner attempted to stop a black motorcycle around January 7 after observing the rider weaving through construction cones. Instead of stopping, the driver fled at a high rate of speed.

The rider was later identified as 46-year-old Terry Eugene Fischer of Kissimmee. During the pursuit, Cpl. Turner reported seeing Fischer repeatedly reach into his jacket and observed what appeared to be a firearm.

As the chase continued, Fischer began throwing items from the motorcycle. Investigators later determined the discarded items included methamphetamine, cocaine, and a firearm. K-9 Cpl. DeMarco took over the pursuit as Fischer continued to flee.

Deputies say Fischer threw additional narcotics before eventually pulling over and being taken into custody without further incident.

Fischer is currently being held at the Marion County Jail and faces 11 charges, including fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, tampering with evidence, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
