Four Texas Men Arrested in Tallahassee After Family Dollar Burglary Spree Across North Florida

LEON COUNTY, FL – Tallahassee police say a burglary spree that stretched across North Florida came to an end thanks to quick coordination between agencies and the use of license plate reader technology.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, four men from Texas were arrested January 12, 2026, in connection with multiple burglaries targeting Family Dollar stores. Detectives with TPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau were first alerted by the Pensacola Police Department, which was investigating a series of break-ins involving the same suspects.

Using shared intelligence and license plate reader data, investigators determined the suspects had entered Tallahassee and were likely to continue the pattern locally. Officers worked alongside the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the department’s Real Time Crime Center to track the vehicle in real time.

Police say officers watched as the suspects attempted to burglarize a Family Dollar by cutting power to the building. The group then traveled to a second Family Dollar, where a burglary was completed. After the second incident, officers coordinated to block the suspects’ vehicle before it could leave the parking lot. All four individuals were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the vehicle uncovered multiple burglary tools and a safe that had been stolen from the second store, according to investigators.

Chief Lawrence Revell credited the arrest to technology and teamwork. He said recognizing crime trends quickly and sharing information in real time allowed officers to act decisively before additional businesses were targeted. Revell added that the case sends a clear message that Tallahassee is not a place where offenders can commit crimes and escape accountability.

Those arrested were identified as 23-year-old Robert Jaden Chalk of Humble, TX; 21-year-old Tyler Seth Foster, 24-year-old Daylon Quavon Malcom and 25-year-old Jylen Lee Williams. Each is charged with two counts of burglary of a structure, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information related to criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Tallahassee Police Department or Crime Solvers.
