Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Juvenile in Fort Lauderdale Animal Cruelty Case

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a juvenile suspect accused of aggravated animal cruelty.

According to investigators, the juvenile was captured on video surveillance on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at approximately 311 SW 8th Avenue in the Sailboat Bend area. The footage shows the young suspect chasing a duck and ultimately killing the animal. Detectives with the department’s Animal Cruelty Unit are actively working the case and are seeking assistance from anyone who may recognize the individual.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
