After Resident Complaints About Drug Dealer, St. Johns County Deputies Raid St. Augustine Home

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida – A narcotics investigation by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a 44-year-old man after deputies executed a search warrant at a St. Augustine residence following multiple complaints.

On Jan. 29, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, assisted by SWAT and Air and Drone units, served a narcotics search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Windward Way in St. Augustine. Authorities said the warrant was obtained after receiving numerous complaints related to suspected drug activity at the property.

During the search, detectives recovered approximately 2.3 grams of methamphetamine, 7.1 grams of powder cocaine, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.

Richard Stuhmer, 44, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office said the enforcement action targeted a nuisance property and was aimed at improving safety in the surrounding neighborhood.
